The celebration
Ashwathy and Rishi’s engagement was photographed at Mango County Resort in Palakkad. What made the setting useful photographically was the combination of open green areas and softer natural backgrounds: enough room for couple portraits without separating the couple from the family event for too long.
How we approached the photographs
For an engagement, the balance is different from a full wedding. Family arrivals, ring/ceremonial moments and group photographs matter, but the couple also needs a short portrait window while clothing, makeup and light are still fresh. We prefer to identify those windows around the event rather than turning the function into a continuous photoshoot.
What another couple can learn from this venue style
- Green outdoor areas work best when portrait time is planned around softer light.
- Keep one short couple-portrait window rather than repeatedly pulling the couple away from guests.
- Tell the photography team which family groups are important before the event begins.
- If the venue has multiple outdoor areas, choose one or two strong backgrounds instead of losing time moving between every possible spot.
